I have over 20 years of competing and running coaching knowledge to call upon, as well as being a constant student of the sport I love. Running is one of the purest and simplest sports a human can enjoy but also one of the most frustrating when you do not get the desired results. Constant injury, stagnation of times or new to running and not sure where to start are all common reasons to seek help. I will break your running down into three areas, they are as follows…

Technique

How we put one foot in front of the other will differ from person to person, we all come in different shapes and sizes so the end result will look very different. I do not believe in big sweeping changes and lazy thinking that we should all run the same way, instead identifying common ‘red flag’ faults that can be easily adjusted through a range of coaching cues and practice. Using video evidence to support this, I will analyse your technique and present you with a video for you to keep for future reference.

Programming

Pain can often be our bodies way of telling us we are loading the joints and muscles with too much too quickly, sometimes it can be a simple as that. I will look at your training schedule and analyse what might be causing pain resulting in weeks and even months of no running. I work with all level of runner, working towards all levels of results but one common trait is the plateau of performance, often caused from the same training being performed with the same mentality. I will educate you with my take on ‘light and shade’ in your training and the thought processes behind the training I will set for you, the importance of each run will be explained into as much detail as you require.

Supplementary Training

I will teach you about the importance of foam rolling, stretching and running specific strength exercises. All of these are undervalued and underperformed by the majority of runners but vital in the avoidance of injury and increasing of performance. Strengthening of the muscles, tendons and ligaments is a must for all runners, leading to a stronger more efficient running technique. All other aspects of training, nutrition and equipment can be covered using my extensive knowledge.
